What is PrompterPoint?
|
PrompterPoint is a speaker's notes formatted on PowerPoint slides. For optimum readability, white text is used on a black background. Color is used for stage directions, notations and other reference text which will not be read aloud.

How is PrompterPoint different than traditional Teleprompter?
|
Traditional Teleprompter scrolls as the speaker progresses through their speech or bullet points; PrompterPoint advances page by page, one full screen at a time.

When should I use PrompterPoint?
|
PrompterPoint is most effective when a speaker has bulleted "talking points" or abbreviated information from which he/she wants to speak. It is best for notes, reminders and details - or for keeping a presenter "on track". It can also be used to read a complete script.

When should I use traditional Teleprompter?
|
Traditional, scrolling teleprompter is usually used when a speaker wants to read his/her script verbatim. It can also be very effective for bulleted notes: as one point is spoken to, it scrolls off of the screen and the next one(s) roll up. This enables the presenter to always see what is current and what is next.

Why should I use a Teleprompter operator to do my PrompterPoint?
|
Regardless of the display method, a professional Teleprompter operator is trained to help the speaker with their spoken message - from editing and making changes through rehearsal and coaching to their final delivery.

Can I have multiple PrompterPoint slides for each graphics slide?
|
Yes. We can insert a title which lets you know which graphics slide the PrompterPoint slide pertains to - letting you know where you are in your presentation. Teleprompter operators are skilled at following your presentation, hearing you use the key words on your slides and knowing when to move on to the next point or points. You don't have to cue them to advance your PrompterPoint slides.

Can I put charts and graphs in my PrompterPoint slides?
|
While we have the capability, it is not recommended. Graphic elements should remain in the graphics slides. Many times you will be able to see them in your downstage monitors along with your PrompterPoint or Teleprompter.

How much text can I get on one slide?
|
This will vary according to the size and distance of the display monitors. Generally, a font size of 32 is the smallest which will provide good readability. A font size of 40 with a .85 line spacing permits a manageable amount of information to be seen well.

Can I use PrompterPoint while speaking at a lecturn with presidential glass?
|
Yes, PrompterPoint can be fed into presidential-style teleprompters, either separately or in conjunction with downstage floor monitors.

Can I make changes onsite?
|
Yes, of course. Consult with your production staff as to the best way to facilitate onsite changes. Sometimes changes on paper are more efficient than submitting a whole new electronic copy. Always remember to get the current copy from the Prompter operator to assure changes are made to the correct version of the script.

How do I get my speaker notes into PrompterPoint format?
|
Your Teleprompter operator will be able to transfer your notes into PrompterPoint format from your original .ppt file. You can also submit Word documents, text files or RTF files. Check with your operator or production staff for more options.
